Choosing a Auto Racing Suit

In the world of auto racing, whether you are an amateur, hobbyist or professional, your driving suit is vital to your safety and comfort.  There are many manufactures, styles and colors from which to choose from but the most important factor is the SFI rating, after all your racing suit is the first line of defense to fire!

SFI has Specification SFI 3.2A which tests a driving suits fire retardant capabilities. This spec contains a rating system based on the garment's capability to provide Thermal Protective Performance (TPP) in the presence of both direct flame and radiant heat. The purpose of the TPP is to measure the length of time the person wearing the garment can be exposed to a heat source before incurring a second degree, or skin blistering, burn.
